My stuff is heading to Boston tomorrow, but I am not. I’m sending the Lead Saw and a Cast Foam Plum Bob to be a part of a group exhibition titled “The Art of Tools” The opening receptions is on Friday, May 4, from 6-8 pm. and I’m sure there will be lots of cheese and wine that I will be missing out on. I’m really glad however to be a part of this show at the The Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston and I consider it a great honor.

Here you see Matt Chatigny carefully installing the Rubber Nails for me. This video was taken back in August when we were up in Washington.

We have a hot tub at our house. But unfortunately it does not work. It looks like it works… the bubbles and all.

So we (Matt, Jeremiah, Jayme and I) made the long trek up the west cost to the small town of Poulsbo, Washington. By the time we got there we had already been traveling for about 5 days-delirious, and calling each other made up words that some how seemed appropriate.
On August 4th we arrived at the Castle House Gallery. We were welcomed by two beautiful clydesdale horses, (both females if I am remembering it right) and by the gallery owner and new friend Jared Hankins. The Castle House Gallery is by far the most unique gallery I have ever been to. I am totally pleased with the outcome of the exhibition. And I am honored to be able to show my work in this converted old farmhouse.

In 9 days I will be having a solo art exhibition at the Castle House Gallery up in Washington State. I understand that not everyone can make the trip, so I’ve posted some images of what the exhibition will sort of look like.
Ps. You may have to use your imagination:

I just found out that a film called “Deacon’s Monday” is screening next month. I bring this up because A: It’s most likely going to be an excellent film made by a couple pals at flagpop. And B: I designed and built a set in the film with my buddy jonny rench. So listen, if you are in the area you should then go to this screening! I’m pretty sure you will enjoy it, even if my set is only on screen for about three seconds. Mario Brothers saved me again…

this damn ladder

This image of a ladder keeps showing up in almost every drawing I’ve made in the past few years now. I don’t know if this is wise, but I am going to try and stay away from the ladder for a while… so get a nice good look, because you might not see it for a long long time.

This is Matt Chatigny and I. As you can see we are eating something. But what you probably don’t know is that we are aboard a BC fairy traveling from Vancouver to Victoria. Canada is great, the people, the weather… even the veggie burgers those Canadians make are great. The point of all of this is while I was up there I meet a Canadian girl who told me I needed to start a blog. That sounded awful. But then she explained that I could use it as a “sketch book open to anyone”. That sounded cheesy. But look at me now… I’ve started a blog.
